Hotel Reservations

As of March 25, 2013, the convention block at the Marriott Los Angeles Airport Hotel (our host hotel) as well as for the Renaissance Los Angeles Airport Hotel (our overflow facility) have completely filled up. We have taken all contracted hotel rooms at the Marriott, and except for those few, the Marriott is about nearly sold out. As a reminder, Gallifrey One offers a block of discounted rooms as a courtesy (it is not something guaranteed by the convention) and interest was phenomenally high this year. (Just to give you an idea of the interest: over 700 rooms were sold out within the course of a half hour the day they opened.

However, there are still PLENTY of rooms available in the immediate area including at our two hotels, more than enough for everyone to get a hotel room at a decent price. We've prepared this handy guide to help you find lodging for Gallifrey 2014. The following information is good as of March 25, 2013 though we will attempt to update it later in the spring.

Host Hotels

Marriott Los Angeles Airport, 5855 West Century Blvd.: While our convention room block is sold out, there are an extremely limited number of rooms available in the hotel at $199/night currently. You are also welcome to keep trying over the course of the year with our convention code GLFGLFA to see if any reserved rooms in our block open up.

Renaissance Los Angeles Airport, 9620 Airport Blvd., on the block north of the Marriott next to Four Points Sheraton: Our block has filled up as well, but there are still many rooms available at the Renaissance at $179/night. Remember that Gallifrey One is working on a shuttle service for Friday and Saturday nights (10:30pm - 2:30am) after evening programming from the Marriott to the Renaissance. Also, use convention code GALGALA over the next 11 months to see if rooms open up.

Adjacent Hotels

Hilton LAX Airport & Towers, 5711 West Century Blvd., on the opposing side of the Marriott parking lot and one door down (past the Park Air parking structure). As of March 2013 they have not yet released rooms for February 2014 for reservations but they should later in the spring.

Courtyard by Marriott LAX, 6161 West Century Blvd. While the lowest price we are currently seeing is $219/night, note that the Courtyard is on the same shuttle as the Marriott LAX so we include it on this list.

Embassy Suites LAX, 9801 Airport Blvd., a block north of the Marriott: $154/night on Expedia.com.

Crowne Plaza Los Angeles Airport, 5985 West Century Blvd., across the street (Airport Blvd.) and one door down, but still a 5 minute walk. $120/night on Expedia.

Travelodge Hotel at LAX Airport, 5547 West Century Blvd., one block east of the Marriott. As low as $84/night by checking directly on travelodge.com (rooms are not presently available on travel sites).

Sheraton Gateway Hotel, 6101 West Century Blvd., just west of the Crowne Plaza. $109/night available exclusively on starwoodhotels.com.

Four Points Sheraton, 9750 Airport Blvd., on the block immediately north of the Marriott. Like the Hilton, as of March 2013 they have not yet released rooms to the public for February 2014 but keep checking.

Other Hotels

These hotels are slightly further away than a 5-10 minute walk but still very accessible.

Holiday Inn LAX, 9901 South La Cienega Blvd., at the intersection next to the 405 freeway. $110/night on Expedia.com

La Quinta Inn & Suites LAX, 5249 West Century Blvd., at the intersection next to the 405 freeway. $79/night on Expedia.com

Wingate by Wyndham LAX, 10300 S. La Cienega Blvd., at the intersection next to the 405 freeway and half a block south. $129/night available only on wingatehotels.com

Super 8 Motel LAX, about a quarter mile north of the Marriott, but there is free parking. As low as $62.90/night but only available on super8.com

Westin LAX, 5400 West Century Blvd. Like the Hilton LAX and Four Points Sheraton, as of March 2013 rooms have not opened up.

Radisson LAX, 6225 West Century Blvd., the first hotel off of the Los Angeles International Airport property. $144/night on Expedia.com (but we're getting reports of as low as $106/night on some discount sites like booking.com)
